I'm looking for recommendations for a repair tech to work on two pre-1850 Martin guitars. The repairs are relatively minor. The bridge is lifting on one and the other has tuner issues. Preferably in the Seattle area.

where is your location . There are many that are qualified . The older guitars are not the same as modern instruments. I do repairs and I sent my pre 1860 to Alex Gray of Paradox Mountain strings . He or Steve Kovacik and David Laplante or David Musselwhite . Rick I know personally and is also qualified .

John, the guitars are in the Seattle area and while it would be nice not to have to ship them anywhere, its not necessary for them the be repaired here.

JJ, I know Cat's work and she was the first I thought of, but as John said, the older ones some times pose a different set of problems that not everyone is up to the challenge of repairing.

Good place to start since they're both in your area. I'm sure they would guide you in the right direction as to a reliable local source.
